                   SATURDAY WORKSHOPS



Julia has been making wonderful sugarcraft creations in West Yorkshire for over 40 years, designing and making cakes for all occasions. During her career she has taught the art of sugarcraft and baking to all ages and abilities, inspiring hundreds of future Star Bakers with her workshops and classes.


With a professional and patient approach Julia guides the learner with simple step by step instructions to make decorations using a range of traditional and modern techniques. Many former students have gone on to develop careers and businesses in the food industry.

Julia's classes have received "Outstanding" grades and her baking and sugarcraft creations are award winning.

Biscuits and Butterflies

Saturday 1st June 2024

The morning will start with a demonstration of how to make classic shaped Butter Shortbread and Viennese piped finger and swirl biscuits.  Butterfly and shirt shaped Shortbreads will be decorated with Royal icing using the flooding technique.  Viennese fingers will be decorated with chocolate.  Viennese Swirls will be sandwiched together with piped buttercream.

You will be able to take home a selection of the biscuits which you will have helped to make, bake and decorate.

Father's Day
Novelty Football     

Saturday 15th June 2024

Make a gift for Father's day from a Terry's Chocolate Orange.

Surprise someone special with this novelty Sugarpaste and marzipan decorated football.

Use geometric cutters to cover the "ball" then create a model of their favourite team player to sit ontop.


You will be able to personalise this gift with a special message.

Under the Sea

Saturday 29th June 2024

Decorate a sponge cake, using Sugarpaste with an "Under the sea" theme.

Make a selection of corals, shells, sea creatures, fish and a Mermaid.

Specialist tools, cutters, moulds and equipment will be available for you to use and  make this underwater scene.


Step by step guidance will be given, so that you can create your own individual edible marine seascape.
