ABOUT JULIA

Julia has been making wonderful sugarcraft creations in West Yorkshire for over 40 years, designing and making cakes for all occasions. During her career she has taught the art of sugarcraft and baking to all ages and abilities, inspiring hundreds of future Star Bakers with her workshops and classes.

 

With a professional and patient approach Julia guides the learner with simple step by step instructions to make decorations using a range of traditional and modern techniques. Many former students have gone on to develop careers and businesses in the food industry.

Julia's classes have received "Outstanding" grades and her baking and sugarcraft creations are award winning.

If you want to achieve a professional finish and learn new sugarcraft skills why not join one of Julias workshops? Whether you are a novice or experienced cake decorator you can develop your skills with careful guidance in small groups that are friendly and relaxed in a comfortable home kitchen setting.

Knitting Bag

Saturday 24th February 2024

Produce a Patchwork stye board with various coloured textured icings.

 

Decorate a Swiss roll and crispie treats to produce a realistic illusion cake. Learn how to attach and texture icing  using specialist tools.  Make a selection of edible wool balls, needles and other sewing items.

Mothers Day
Cake

Saturday 9th March 2024

For that special person in your life.

Produce this beautiful basket of flowers all made from Buttercream and Sugarpaste.  Learn how to make the correct consistency of Buttercream.

Use a selection of nozzles to pipe basket weave on the base and create a variety of piped flowers.  Attach and arrange on a 10" board, enhance with sugarpaste blossoms and butterflies.

Decorated
Easter Egg

Saturday 23rd March 2024

Decorate a bought Chocolate egg  with royal icing, sugarpaste and marzipan.

Personalise with piped and sugar Spring flowers.- Daffodils, primroses and violets.  Make marzipan chicks butterflies and rabbits.

Assemble by using  your creations to produce a novelty Springtime scene.
